LOCAL FOOD IN MELAKA (1)

Melaka has a diversified population.

Visitors can expect a variety of cuisine for the taste buds. The hot, spicy, sweet and sour savories.

Malay Starters
Nasi Lemak - coconut steamed rice with hot sambal, stir fry kangkung (vegetable), anchovies and hard boiled egg, and serve wrapped on banana leaf.



Ikan Bakar - fish wrapped in banana leaf and tin foil over hot coal or just barbecued with spiced sauce.



Satay - barbeque meat - chicken, mutton, beef, ostrich, rabbit served with nut, belimbing and chile sauce. Sweet and hot.


Ayam Percik - barbecue chicken thigh marinate in traditional malay herbs and spices.
